Good day Nick,

I've watched some of your videos and also read your threads and you seem like the most knowledgeable person I've come across so far. I have a 2017 Chevy Tahoe with exactly 174,400 miles. It runs and drives fine until the transmission fluid heats up and then theres occasionally a shudder in lower gears, as well as it popping out of gear when I come to a complete stop. When I put it in reverse there a 5-10 second delay before it goes into gear. I had it put on a computer and the code that it showed said "Solenoid #3 Stuck Open". What advice would you have as far as what direction to go in? Should I be looking for a replacement transmission or can the solenoid code be the issue?

Thanks for the kind words, @a9lyphe. Given your shudder symptoms and the possibility that either CPC3 in the TEHCM is malfunctioning, I'd start planning for an overhaul. And instead of just replacing the transmission, I'd look for a competent shop in your area that's well-versed in these transmissions and knows exactly what to do to properly rebuild them...Replacement units almost never have any of the required updates/upgrades to the pump, valve body, internal case, etc and you're going to be paying the same amount of money (if not more) for a generic rebuild...

Where are you located?

Unfortunately, I live in the United States Virgin Islands where every mechanic learned their craft on youtube. It's extremely expensive to get one shipped in and given the information you just shared about upgrading the internal parts, I highly doubt I will be able to get one with the necessary upgrades. Far out question, but are you in the business of rebuilding and shipping transmissions?
