PIP5570A. Print, bring it to your dealer and ask them to replace the seal. I’m having them replace mine for the same noise next week, will update with results. I added some dielectric grease and a large zip tie per the thread linked below and it quieted the noise down a lot. Hoping new seal kills it completely.

Update- the new seal completely killed the noise! Fingers crossed that it stays that way.

My 2018 Suburban was making this sound from day one. I took it in four different times and they kept telling me they didn't hear anything. I finally found these threads and printed a copy of the PIP5570A GM Bulletin and took it in along with a couple recordings of the sound. I ask them to do what was instructed as the correction. After two days I got a call that my car was ready and they said it was fixed. I took it for a drive with the mechanic and heard the sound immediately. They had not done the PIP5570A correction and said they could not even find it on the GM site. I asked them to please do this. They looked further and found that the bulletin was renamed 18-NA-349. They performed the recommended fix of removing and resealing the steering shaft. The sound is now gone. If it comes back, I will have them replace the steering seal.

Our 2019 has been making this noise as well. My wife noticed it almost immediately after we bought it, it’s now getting loud enough for me to hear it clearly especially when towing the boat.

Thanks a lot for this. Been dealing with the same problems for months now, dealership came up with all kinds of excuses like V4/V8, fuel management system, etc. I took this bulletin reference in and they fixed it in two days. Sound’s been gone ever since!

My 19 denali has a weird sound like an exhaust leak but its only when its in v4 mode. My brothers 16 escalade does it too. Low RPM, running about 55-60 mph. I heard it for the first time when I was in Florida last month (first time in hot temps)

I have a 2016 Yukon. The PIP5570A said it affected Yukon 2017 and up. Did the fix resolved the exhaust fluttering on 2015/2016 Yukon?

My 2017 was making the exact same noise. Thanks to this post, they adjusted the steering boot and for now the noise is gone. I was hoping they would replace it, but they said the bulletin doesn’t require replacement. I’m just glad that after complaining of the noise for the last year- I may possibly have a quieter ride (although the Yukon is noisy as hell in general) That noise was driving me insane! Thank you for posting that bulletin!

I'm leaning towards a combination of the engine trying to accelerate while in 4 cylinder mode and also maybe your exhaust "flapper valve" doing it's flapping thing. The best fix would be to buy a Black Bear (or other) ECM that deactivates the AFM 4 cylinder mode and remove the flapper valve. My Yukon has the Callaway conversion which among other things eliminates the 4 cylinder mode and removes the flapper valve (all new exhaust). Could not be happier!
