MinahBob,

The trans issues with these vehicles are maddening! I cannot weigh in either way on the success of suing Chev and/or dealer on this issue but other than the cost of filing and the time you will spend in preparation, you have nothing to lose. In addition, you may get someone's attention thus some possible help.

After months of screwing around with them, I got our Attorney General involved and GM finally acknowledged that my Tahoe VIN was included in the Service campaign (duh-it stated from SOP to EOP which means start of production to end of production) and that the symptoms documented in my service records matched the criteria for the new TCV. So with a little help from the AG and a retired lawyer, I was able to negotiate a $4000 settlement. Still a little short of what this actually cost me (and the aggravation) but I'm generally happy and have moved on.

So if you had transmission issues with your 6 speed Tahoe, Yukon or pickup, reference Service Bulletin 21-NA-199 (you can find it with Google) and pull your paperwork and demand that GM step up and make it right!

Thanks for posting the follow-up.
Glad to hear you got some relief on the costs. Your success will give folks a path to maybe take a run at GM as well.

Cheers,
Tim
