2018 RST E85?

Hello new here. I did a quick search on the E85 and wasnt finding anything on the newer 6.2 . My wife is driving a 2018 RST with the 6.2. All stock other then some tint. (For this week) has anyone ran them on E85? Is it able to run E85?

She drives about 4 miles to work so her mileage isn't the best. I'm not complaining I didn't buy it for mpg. I'm more curious if it will have more power with the E85 over the 91.

I'm new to the gas performance motors. I have has diesels for the past 13 years.

Don't do it - Just buy the best premium gas you can find.

Lots of conflicting info on the L86 being flex capable. I think originally it was going to be, then GM changed it up for some reason. You can find conversion kits and videos. What does your manual say?

If you look on line to order filters or anything like that its called the 6.2 V8 Vin j L86 Flex. I'm not a big fan of flex fuel and the bio diesel crap but if it was a better performance I figured I would try it since it is almost $1.50 cheaper then 91

Yeah, this is interesting. The yellow cap thing isn't written in stone. My L59 Tahoe cap is original and black. No badges anywhere. It does, however say it on the sticker in the fuel door. And we all know the l59 vin Z is flex.

I read that with l86, some early (2014?) ones may have been flex. Also read that GM jumped the gun on spec releases that said flex, but then didn't follow through. I have seen spec l86 spec sheets that say flex, and some that say premium reccomended.

When the government benefits expired, GM quit making the cars FlexFuel capable. However, the K2s were all designed to run on FlexFuel and can be easily converted, the computers are already set up for it, just need sensor and tubing and new filler neck and such. GM-Trucks forum has several how-to posts with photos.

4 miles back and forth to work is not good for any engine. The thing will never heat up and the computers barely have time to adapt to driving patterns. Make sure y'all run it more than those work runs when you can.

Her work trip is short but it gets driven a good bit we run through a tank of gas about every 10 to 12 days. We have had it about 2 months and put about 5500 miles on it.

Door should have a sticker on it that says to use only premium fuel.
