2018 Yukon Denali - Door Alignment Off?

I think that could be adjusted to fit flush and I would have them do it.

I wouldn’t be that concerned my door isnt perfect. As soon as you have them start messing with the hinges stuff is going to start getting funky.... if it were me I’d leave it. Hinges are on and that’s how the door wants to sit. My Expedition always had a misalignment on the door too never bothered me or effected operation. Pretty much any maker has the doors a hair off on vehicles if you look close enough.

I completely agree with the above. I do see from the picture that it’s off a bit, but it’s really, really small. And as long as it doesn’t affect performance (air/road noise, water leaks) I would just leave it. If the dealer starts taking the door off and messing with the alignment, it could get worse and might actually start affecting performance of the door.

I’m a perfectionist too and these things bother me as well. But in this case I would ignore it and start enjoying that beautiful ride!

It’s a 40k American truck (dressed up with a bunch of baubles and bolt ons). Stuff like that comes with the territory.

Oh and my Denali has a similar issue. I’m a crazy perfectionist but there’s no chance I’m having the dealer fuss with it. The minute they do I know I’ll have another squeak to live with.

One of my doors doesn’t align perfectly either. I didn’t notice until the first time I washed it and ran a hand over it. There’s a few other things around the truck that are similar that I’ve decided to not make a big deal out of - Like the other perfectionists who chimed in here that don’t feel like making nothing into something.

The truck isn’t perfect and I can live with that.

I think they may have done this on purpose for decreased wind noise and buffeting

I have the same thing on my 2018 Suburban, its covered but I didn't do anything cause when they start pulling to line it up it can make the rest worse, so I chose not to. Check your paint well, I have blemishes on the roof, back hatch, and hood, runs on the door edges, probably the worst factory paint I have seen on a chevy yet. Chevy body shop says, hatch needs to be repainted, whole roof and hood. I don't want to bust the factory clear, still deciding if i can live with it

Yeah my door lines are off also and as months go by you're going to start getting more and more rattles and failures. I've had mine for five months and every month Im less impressed. Thought enough time had passed since the bail out but apparently not. GM is obviously still cutting costs and corners.. not only on their vehicles but in their service/tech department. Like other members are saying don't let them touch it! You'll end up with more problems, frustrations, wasted time and money. Sad this is just expected and has become the norm on a $70,000 american made vehicle. I planned on selling this thing around 50k miles now I'm thinking more like 30k just to avoid the frustration. There obviously was a reason GM went bankrupt and this is what we should expect when we allow a failed company to continue doing business.

I have a 2015 Tahoe with the same problem on the driver side door (only on the lower part of the door).

Guys, open the window all the way and door all the way. Have someone pull on the door from the window frame down as if they are trying to open it and you put your hands underneath from a squatting position as if you were getting out and dropped something and pull as if you were trying to close the door but more of an upward motion. Do not jam on it just gently pull up, I can guarantee you will get that bottom corner to pull in a little more. DO NOT PULL LIKE YOU ARE TRYING TO KILL SOMETHING, just a gentle tug.

I have the same exact issue on my 2016 Denali in the same spot. I believe the door itself is aligned properly but there is a defect on the outer shell of the door. I haven’t said anything because I don’t want them messing with the hinges
