Hello all, I've been looking at catch cans for our 2019 5.3. It looks like the upr is $200 for my model and the jlt is 159. Is there a significant difference between the 2? Are there any good cheaper options out there yet? Thanks in advance.

From a design standpoint, they all work about the same. I have the JLT3 oil catch can, and I'm happy with it. Many other folks here have installed oil catch cans costing less than $50, and they are also happy with them.

Once you purchase and install one, I recommend that you keep track of the oil that it catches compared to miles driven. I'm averaging about 1 oz. of oil caught for every 1000 miles driven.

I also have the cheaper catch can and seems to be well made,I also drilled and tapped the bottom for a 3/8ths pipe fitting and installed a 3/8 ball valve with a hose to drain any oil that has built up. As reaching to undo the bottom was a bit awkward and it seems to get tight over time.I give it a quick check when i check the oil or washer fluid.
