cataclean won't work, your better off unbolting it and throwing it in a giant bucket of vinegar, let it soak and wash it out, that might work maybe.....or it will ruin it
the little tiny holes get clogged
How would I do a one piece y pipe with the 2 cats? Just dump it down the pipe and let it soak?

it's really nothing to do with the brand, i have catco's on it now, I had used the magnaflow's before but since covid came along the price doubled from $650 to $1200 (or more)
the magnaflows might have lasted a little longer but not for double the price now.
part of all the cat pricing has to do with with manufacture price fixing, they essentially "force" all licensed cat "dealers" to set a minimum price or they get blacklisted and cannot sell there cat's. technically that is illegal but combating it takes a class action lawsuit and lots of money. so it kind of just fly's under the radar.
that's why if you search for a carb cat online all the prices are the same for the model searched, no matter who is selling it.
with the exception of a local auto parts like advanced auto, autozone, etc they will have full retail prices (crazy)
magnaflow is there own brand, eastern/catco are both made by eastern, walker is tenneco.
anywhere you look your basically screwed price wise.
a factory cat (y-pipe) price can vary, some of the big online dealers may have the best deal. but they can turn around and get you on shipping, whereas a local dealer may have the option of getting it in with there regular orders and not hitting you with a additional cost.

I have never tried flushing one I have seen youtube videos of it being done, but ya the easiest would probably be too cap off one end and fill it up and let it soak and then flush it out.
