Had not driven my 2019 Tahoe for a week, walked by last night and it now has a 7 inch crack coming down from near the antenna on drivers side. There is no impact marks anywhere, it has 4,200 miles.

when we had a loaner from dealer, the Tahoe we were given to drive, had a crack in the same area but 3 times longer, is this a known fault or did I just get unlucky? Would this be covered by the warranty?

thanks!

Usually insurance, Dealers are very picky about repairing a windshield crack under warranty.

Unlucky. Where you live? People here have good recommendations based on your location for window shops.

Glass is kinda funny **** that. Ask Tesla. ;) Seriously, have you watched the guys on the car building shows when they're handling glass? It doesn't seem to matter whether it's old or new either.

I tossed my company cell phone on the dash once. It slid down to the windshield and made 2 cracks, in a 'V' shape, all the way to the top.

What does being in a union have anything to do with it other than union workers tend to put out better quality than non union workers? This is coming from a journeyman glazier. I don’t do auto glass but mainly commercial glass, aluminum, curtain wall, storefront etc. like this.

Funny, well not funny, but when it's cold out, under 20 degrees f I get a noise like someone is throwing ball bearing at my windshield, almost a cracking sound, but no cracks, my chevy service adviser has hear the noise, they spent an hour looking at different GM issues but found nothing, and with warmer weather there is no noise at all

I have heard of the jokes about Monday or Friday builds but never heard anyone try to throw a union worker under the bus. I still fail to see the correlation relating to the automaker union. You might try to remember that union members are reading your posts so try not to offend us. o_O
