Just want to share the issue Im having with my Tahoe... At about 9k miles i put a Whipple SC, Borla exhaust and upgraded the air intake.. Truck ran great for about 6 months then it started spitting out the exhaust. They went thru the truck and said they didnt find anything and cleared the codes. Truck ran great for another 6 months. THen it started misfiring again. Took my friends 20 dollar code reader and 0300 comes up.. Kept readaing the codes and finally 0301 comes up...I take the spark plug wire off put it back on and truck runs grat for another 6 months. I was happy to pinpoint the issue. Then it misfire again...I change the plug the wire the coil pack and it still misfires.. Way back I remember seeing a black mark on the spark plug wire boot and was thinking is wire shorting out or is it an exhaust leak which there is none and then come to realize that the plug is not seating properly.. SO thats where im at right now. I tightened the plug a little tighter than normal and it stopped missing it would last about a week then miss again...MY machinist said if he puts a helicoil my engine light will remain on but no misfire will be happening.. He then said to try liquid teflon on the plug threads to seal them... Anyone have any comments would love to hear them

Could you have a defective head casting? Might need to buy a new one and the also upgrade your valve springs while you are at it. How much boost is your whipple putting out?

How the heck did you get a stripped plug hole? IF it's under mfr bumper to bumper warranty I'd let them fix it or were you not the original owner or some other situation?

IF it's the aftermarket work does the mfr cover work by the aftermarket company or did you do the work? IF you did the work did you notice anything odd when you did the work?

I've got a 17yr old Tahoe, just broke 132 miles, all 1 owner, me. Replaced the plugs, wires once. Serviced the diff 2 times, trans 1 time, diff's one time, transfer case 1 time when I did the "pump rub" fix and installed the Merchant Automotive upgraded pump in it.

Its not stripped. Plugs tightens up just fine. Im assuming the plug is not seating properly.
