New here, just wanted to stop by and share my experience changing motor mounts on my new to me 2020 Tahoe PPV 2wd. Shops were charging over $1,000 for motor mounts so that was a no brainer for me to attempt the install myself.

The driver side is pretty straight forward and there is a lot of info out in the internet and YouTube on how to handle the driver side. But the passenger side everywhere I looked on the web or YouTube, everyone stated either the manifold or the starter had to come out. I was able to remove both sides without taking off any exhaust manifolds or the starter. Again this is the 2wd but I took the passenger mount out from the side in the wheel well so I believe even with the 4wd it would be possible to remove and install coming in through the side on the passenger side. I did disconnect the Y pipe from both exhaust manifolds and this allowed me to jack up the engine higher than if the Y Pipe was connected as the CATs will hit the body and prevent the engine from raising enough of you leave it connected.

Leave it to GM to put hydraulic motor mounts on a v8 engine but when your mounts go out it’s certainly doable without removing the exhaust manifold.

Many of us here have replaced the OEM motor mounts with the Hummer H3 motor mounts.
