2021 3.0 Duramax - Regen System warranty?

While I cannot point to any specific GM Documentation to support this, I was told by my sales person, after I asked about emissions warranty, that the Emissons system warranty on the 3.0 Duramax is 8Yr/80K...she wrote it on the bottom of my copy of the window sticker after consulting their Warranty Dept.

Are you saying that the warranty info provided with the manual(s) does not list the warranty times and mileage?

In addition to the manufacture warranty and the federal emissions warranty, there is coverage based on the California emissions warranty if you live in one of the states listed below. It covers more parts than the federal warranty but is only good until 7/70,000.

We had two sensors and two injectors replaced on our BMW diesel under the CA rules since we are in Oregon. The service reps had no clue. After they looked into it, low and behold, all work was covered.

No, I'm just saying I haven't taken the time to look specifically for this in the warranty.

They are not COMPLETELY wrong about there being an 8yr/80k emissions warranty, but according to the warranty manual the 8yr/80k warranty is only on “select” emissions components.

The select components listed are: catalytic converters, engine control module, transmission control module and other diagnostic emissions critical-electronic control units

So dont think that the regen system/DPF would considered covered in that list…

If you live in California (or a state adopting the Cali emissions/warranty regulations), there appears to be a larger list of items covered through a Cali regulation specific 7yr/70k warranty. This should include the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington (as shown above in Dlayne’s post).

It's the specified major components that is the cliffhanger for DIESEL vehicles....If it isn't specified, ( and it usually isn't...) it ain't covered...
