I had the same thing happen, called one dealer and they said it'd be a few weeks then called another and they had them in stock. I'd definitely call around as they seem readily available.Bumping this back up. The shop chevy site is saying out of stock until July 30. Thule and Yakima have a TBD on their website. Any have any other options?
I just posted this in the Thule/Yakima thread, but if you are still looking there is an Ebay vendor that is selling the GM Factory Cross Bars for $250-275. I ordered them yesterday for $250. He was selling them for $200 but as they continue to sell the price continues to go up, he is listing them for $275 now + $15 shipping. Pretty cheap in comparison to dealer pricing.I had the same thing happen, called one dealer and they said it'd be a few weeks then called another and they had them in stock. Also, I used my MyGM points that I acquired when I purchased the vehicle and it knocked $125 off the $495 price tag.
That and something tells me wind noise is also reduced with the higher bars. They seem WAY quieter than the ones I had on my 2019 Tahoe. For all the people mentioning how high the bars are, i totally agree, but it also dawned on me when i was tossing the thule up on ours yesterday and saw the pano sunroof…i think the reason they are so high on this model is due to the room needed for the pano sunroof to operate. I didnt open it up to check as it was raining, but i bet that is why.
We just drove down to florida from michigan with the biggest box thule offers, and we we got like 12-14 mpg. It was windy af, we were loaded down quite heavy (a weeks worth of luggage for 4 and 4 bikes on a super heavy hitch carrier), and we were cranking 80+- mph so i didnt expect the greatest mileage…but that floored me a little.Having had a 08 YXL and currently a 18 YXL and putting our Packasport on the 21, it was the first time I noticed a significant loss of MPG. IMHO it had to do with the height of the bars.
