2021 z71 Tahoe Rear access/ liftgate

How do you manually open the back? The button on the key fob doesn’t do it. The lights will blink. The button in the cab doesn’t work either.
So I just drive around with back light on saying rear access open? I’d rather not take in to shop if I can avoid it.

You put your hand under the latch and pull outward toward you on the release mechanism.

There is a small circle on the plastic on the inside of your rear deck door, near the bottom and centered left to right, which can assist in manually opening it. You have to carefully drill through that plastic circle, and then you can insert a small diameter screwdriver or equivalent and release the latch.

The rear hatch may be jammed on something or only 1/2 locked.

There is a rubber button at in the middle of the top of the pull handle that you can feel for or bend over and look up under the handle. This is an electrical release button. Or use your keyfob to release the latch while pulling up on the handle.
