Very interested in your results. I am looking at a 22 Z71. When you get the box, do you mind measuring the depth? I can then do some Sub shopping ;) I will assume my JL 10w3 will not fit (6" depth.)
I bought a 2021-2023 oem rear bose subwoofer box part number #84776627. It is 4 inches deep where it molds to the gas filler neck inside the fender. Then it tapers up to 5 inches deep. I purchased a Kicker comprt 2-ohm 8-inch subwoofer with a mounting depth of 2 11/16 inches. I am powering it with an Audio Control amplifier — 300 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms. I picked the amp because it is small and the RMS wattage matches the sub, it also has an internal line output converter.

Hey,

Just seeing your post and wanted to provide some information. Hopefully it helps. If your 2022 has the grill on the dash then more then likely you can add a speaker. However, considering GM's audio set up it makes things difficult upgrading or adding to your system without having to bypass the factory amplifier. You can but then you stand to lose some of the factory features that are tied into your infotainment system and it definitely will cost a substantial amount depending on what manufacturer you chose to use. Personally I kept all my bose speakers and replaced the subwoofer with JL Audio's stealthbox and added the JL amplifier and it not only improved the bass tremendously but even my door speakers sounds better. I am considering to replace just the door speakers at some point and add another amplifier but at the moment it sounds great. I'd definitely recommend going to a reputable shop. They know how to bypass the factory amplifier without any issues. Unfortunately No one else is making a stealthbox at the moment.

Hi,

The oem box used an 8 inch subwoofer. You could make the hole larger. The internal box depth is split half 4 inches and 5 inches on the other half.

Where did you mount the amp for the sub? I’m hoping there’s a good hidden space that works.
