Thought I would close this out.
All in all, I'm giving Chevrolet a C+.
The car is fixed and the new motor feels stronger. But that is probably from driving a Wagoneer for a month, woof, woof.
They reimbursed me $14,240, two months of rental cars and 2 Uber trips to the airport. They didn't question a single receipt and paid in 4 separate checks. Kudos to GM.
I'm still working on the Reunite damages, a $2,600 bill but am less worried about that.
What did I learn? Having it be a "trip interuption" may have helped with rental and claims. Also, I had to do everything. I had to rent the vehicles, pay for the vehicles, hope it would all get reimbursed, make the calls to customer care, follow up with them, escalate, etc.
The staff is solid D and C caliber people who are barely staying above the surface. My wife jokes that they work 1 day a week. They would only answer questions or work on your case certain days and it had to be the case lead. It was very strange.
This was an annoying expereince but I understand, shit happens. I'm glad to have the Tahoe back and hope to put many more miles on it.
