Noticed this Automatic Emergency Braking feature in the settings which is set to Alert and Brake. There’s been numerous times my Tahoe thinks I’m approaching a vehicle in front too quickly and it will alert me but it has never auto-braked. Is there any real way to tell if this feature even works? Obviously I don’t want to wreck it trying to test.

My wife has an Infiniti and it has auto-braking and it is quite obvious when it brakes for you.

if you are approaching basically anything and not on the gas pedal you should feel it start to brake, for drivers like me it's a annoying feature, but just push the pedal and it goes anyway.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I've seen the red light flash many times, but I've never seen it even tap the brakes. Other Vehicles I owned it would jab those brakes pretty quickly if it thought you weren't going to do something....

I have had my reverse automatic braking go off a couple times backing out of my driveway...it got my attention...
If you have the guts to do it, get on an interstate, set your adaptive cruise, and then exit behind someone else on the ramp and let your truck slow you to the stop behind the vehicle in front of you...it does work...it is a bit unnerving...lets just say I would get on the brakes myself a bit sooner than the vehicle does it for you...but it does indeeed bring you to a complete stop. I always have my foot about 0.25" above the brake pedal when I have done this.

I’ve had my ‘22 Yukon apply the emergency brakes in forward and reverse before. It’s quite jarring, but definitely works.
