Anyone having issues with the wifi on the new Yukon or tahoes. Purchased a 2022 Yukon and they made me pay 1000 for the 3 years of onstar so I’m hoping to at least get some use out of it but I can’t get the shares wifi to work. If I click on wifi the click on share wifi data so people in the car can connect it just keeps going from on to off. I’ll click on and it will then say sharing data and sometimes instantly and sometimes after about a minute it just turns off and says not sharing. Took it to dealer and they updated the radio but said they have no clue why it won’t work and not willing to do anything else about it. This can’t be an acceptable solution. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thankss

Not sure if it is the same but in my 16 Tahoe the wifi is setup with a host name and password. Anyone can connect to it buy just connecting to the wifi network and enter the password. It also will auto connect when entering the vehicle if you save the settings.

You may have not set up a Wi Fi Domain name and password with OnStar. Once you do it will work flawlessly.

I have the host name and password setup and then I click on to share data and it will work sometime if I’m in park and don’t move for a few minutes but as soon as I start driving it will turn off and I won’t be able to use it anymore. I can connect anytime to the network from my phone but it doesn’t have data and won’t connect to anything unless the wifi stays on. The dealer says they don’t know and there are no codes and they updated it. I sounds to me like there might be a hardware issue or maybe the antenna or whatever modem the car has in it may be bad.

Not sure if the 21 is the same, but when mine wouldn't connect my dealer was at a loss just like yours. They ended up doing a complete reset of the vehicle systems. According to the service tech, after the third factory reset they were able to get it to work. Don't know if that was an exaggeration, but that's the story I got. That was two months ago and still seems to be working fine. Of course, if you try that, it means losing all the vehicle settings and starting from scratch, but it might be worth a try if nothing else works.

Hi, 2022 Yukon XL. All Onstar services stopped working. NO connectivity at all. Diagnosed with Onstar over the phone since in vehicle communications is totally dead. Would have been nice to receive an email from onstar since they "talk" to my vehicle monthly to send me a maintenance report. Shouldn't they have noticed it wasn't working? According to them, it stopped working late July 2023. Off to the dealer I went. Tech. ordered new telematics module. On back order now. I guess we'll see if that fixes the issue. How does something go bad so quickly. Only 15k miles and 8 months old. :(

Yes. I called on star and they did something on their end and after that it has worked perfectly
I had something related in Oct this year on a newly purchased used 2021 Yukon Denali. Activated OnStar with data plan but it wouldn't allow data even thought the wifi/hotspot was working. Called OnStar back from the rig and they redirected me to 'data specialist' who did a download, had me stop/restart the rig, go inside and accept email notice, and then the external data started flowing - sitting or driving.

Also, OnStar wouldn't answer direct questions about limited ($15/month) vs unlimited ($25/month) data option even though they advertise it. The whole thing seemed was confused and maybe their software is equally substandard.

However, for the moment, things are working and we don't use enough to go beyond the limited option.
