2023 6.2L L87 Engine Defect Bulletin! Yukon/Tahoe/Escalade/Suburban/Sierra/Silverado

GM did not notify me, but my VIN was on the list. You have to call and ask.

Certain 2023 model year vehicles listed above, equipped with ENGINE-GAS, 8 CYL, V8, 6.2L, DI, DFM,ALUM, GEN 5 (RPO L87), may have a condition in which the engine lifter bores may be oversized. Involved vehicles are marked “Open” on the Investigate Vehicle History screen in GM Global Warranty Managementsystem.

Dealers are to replace the engine.

No, but for prior years I've seen
- 2022 Main Bearing Cap Bolt Defect, i.e. bad torque on the bolts, misaligns the crankshaft
- 19-23 Oil Pump Defect, i.e. bad tranny-oil gears, bad oil pressure, bad lifter activation

Who do you call to see if your truck is on the list? The dealer, or GMC via the 1-800 number in the bulletin? It looks like the 1-800 number, but I'm not completely clear on it.

No, but for prior years I've seen

Oil Pump Defect is Transmission, not engine...FWIW
