So after my third visit, I finally got an advisor that would drive around with me and really get an understanding of what I was dealing with at stop lights. After them troubleshooting the vehicle for a week, it is finally fixed. They had to monitor it while it was doing the stumble and they realized that Cylinder seven was misfiring due to the injector sticking. my build date was apparently after they fixed the issue with the faulty injectors, so he said mine was just more bad luck. They changed out that injector and after three days of driving the idle has been smooth as silk. Hasn’t stumbled once when before it happened at almost anytime I was in idle. To the point that I was ready to trade the vehicle in after owning it less than a year. So, after two visits to the dealer and one software “flash” and one update my low idle problem is gone and the engine idles at 500-700 RPM. I still have the “stumble” at idle especially at a red light but it seems to be less so especially using premium 93 gas verses 91 or when my wife tries to put in 89 octane. At this point I am leaving it as a GM quirk with their trucks but my previous Ford Explorer, Infiniti QX56, and Toyota Sequoia didn’t do it. Otherwise Denali runs fine above idle.
Whatever anyone tells you, if you’re having the issue that I was describing it is NOT normal and even though they will push back, you just have to keep pressing and at this point know that there’s a good chance it is an issue with one of your injectors.
