Maybe I'm a bit naive on this one.... If I'm driving, how do I know if DRLs are on or my regular headlights? Assuming sunny weather, mid afternoon. Is there a sign/icon on the dashboard?

DRL’s are (supposed) to be on at all times unless the headlights are on. The headlights on indicator is on when the headlights are on. See the “warning lights, gauges, and indicators” section of your owners manual. Screen shot below from the owners manual in the “help” section of the MyGMC app.

I’ve noticed that usually when headlights go on DRL dim but stay on. At least on the cars I’ve had.

I am going to ignore the recall untill I have to bring it in for something else. Next oil change I am guessing.
