2025 HC Tahoe - Wheels

I am going back and forth between the 24" wheels and 22" wheels. I am looking at 25 HC's with air ride, but I can't decide if I want 24" or 22" I think there are pros and cons to both.

My biggest issue is that I can't find a local dealer that has a tahoe with the 24" in stock. The few dealers that do show them on the lot are using them as demo vehicles. I know I said local, but in my case local is 60 miles and 80 miles I'm not driving that far if there is no guarantee that the car is on the lot.

My concern with the 24" is not the ride, but will they look too big. I do like how they look in pictures, but sometimes things change when you are in person.

Can anyone provide feedback and/or share your experience?

Have you checked the overall [stock] tire dimensions of the 24"s vs 22"s? I'm assuming that the tire heights are probably the same (and that the 24"s just have less sidewall). If that's the case, and you don't care about the ride quality, then it's just going to be pure personal preference -- and I'm guessing that anyone considering 24" wheels isn't ever going to think that 24"s look "too big."

I have not been able to find a tahoe, local, that has 24's so I can't measure, but I did check dimension specs on various sites and they only have dimensions for trim level and not for wheel size within the same trim level. I agree with you in that the overall dimensions between 20, 22 and 24 inch wheels are very close because of the tire sidewall as you mentioned.

I am still trying to look for vehicles that are local with 24s but many of the ones I've found are custom builds (no longer at the dealer), demo units (dealer can't confirm when the demo vehicle will be back) or in transit and if it is in transit you still aren't sure if it is a custom order and won't be on the lot once it arrives.

I like the style of the 24's more than the size itself, if that makes sense, meaning, if I could get the same style of wheels in a 22" then I'd just search for vehicles that were 22" or 24" and hopefully one of them were in stock. If I couldn't find a 24" wheel to see and drive, locally, I'd have to decide if that's something that I wanted to proceed with if I were to buy from a dealer in a different state and have the vehicle shipped to me or go with a custom order. That's why I'm on the fence.

I just looked at a Denali Ultimate a couple of days ago with the 24's on it.. They really look sharp. Sharp enough that I'm not going to mess with them on the new one I have coming in, or get them powder coated, etc. They go with the color I ordered and they are a pretty sharp rim. With air ride. I don't expect much of a difference at all from the 22's I have on my current one. The only downside is they come with the crappy Alenza tires. And if Michelin or Pirelli comes out with a tire before mine gets delivered, I'm going to have the dealership switch them before I ever pick it up., they are that bad..

Does the dealer do this for free or are you paying to have new tires put on? If you are paying, do you get to keep the old tires or do they credit towards the new tires?

I'll pay the diff in pricing, but they can certainly stock them as someone will need them shortly if they scrap one out. If they don't want to give me a fair deal I'll just take them with me and sell them..

I just thought to check the size of my current 22" rims on my 2020 tahoe, the rim and the tire is 31.5" from the ground to the top of the tread (and I only have a couple thousand on these tires).

Tire size is 285/45/R22

These are the wheels that were on the vehicle when I purchased brand new.
