So, my ride was in for service for a dead windshield wiper motor, which is a problem here in Ohio recently. Service guy did the normal inspection and reports brake pads will be needing replaced in the next month or so.
I normally perform my own brake maintenance, however, this ride has the fancy feature that reports pad wear in the display. Is that something that will work if I change the pads to....R1 or Powerstop Ceramic with driiled/slooted rotors? I have had both brands on multiple rides over the last several years with great satisfaction.

You just have to have pads that support the break wear sensor and a new wear sensor. Then reset when new pads are installed on that axle.

Would think the aftermarket has caught up to this setup by now. Or go w/ the Delco...always had good luck w/ those and they will have a design that includes the electronic wear sensor.

Note there was a period where the OE was using a softer material to minimize noise, but it wore faster (there is a TSB for this). So, depending on your driving, you may want to ask about the harder material if you do a lot of stop and go for durability...
