Hello
I am trying to paint or vinyl over the chrome parts of the 21 Tahoe front grill.
I have tried different sprays and they all peel off after a month. I haven’t tried the vinyl but I think that’s not an option either as it is not easy to do.
Does anyone know an aftermarket grill or a good solution?
Ideally I like to keep the gold parts and only delete the silver parts.
Please keep the answers only related to the front grill.
Thanks

Wrap it. That way when you get tired of it you can remove it. A WRAP shop probably won't charge you much to do it.

Take it to a body shop and have it professionally painted?
Yes, that's what they did with mine. Proper prep, and maybe some lite blasting for adherence? Don't know, but mine has stayed great for over 2 years now, so someone knows how to do it right...

Seems like blasting and paint over is the only option so far.

Vinyl may actually be more durable, can be reversed in the future, and more easily repaired. I've heard about "self healing" vinyl wraps too.

Its strange there isn’t a black offering from Chevy like there is with the gmc grill. My wrap guy basically said no to wrapping the grill on our slt so I bought the factory black one from gm and it’s great

A wonder if OP has a coating on the grill like spray ceramic or something that is causing the peeling issues.

No idea what sprays coatings have been tried but I’ve had grills last for 4+ years with plastic dip. The prep is critical and a good wiping down with Isopropyl Alcohol assures a good clean surface for it to adhere too. Without a truelly clean surface it will peal prematurely.

As soon as it’s warm enough I’m planning to pull my grill and spray it with black hyper dip.
