20" Black Esky Wheels I take it?
Damn, I know I'm sounding so damn confused about a Wheel Selection for my Hoe!
But I do immensely love being a member here, and interacting with you folks, and hoping to absorb more good knowledge, and wisdom.
I am totally confused about what I want on the truck. The Money is there, no problem about money, but there is reluctance upon buying something sight unseen. And then having later regrets again. I had regrets for almost a good 15 years of those damn 3-spokes I threw on my Hoe, going the "right way" on one side of the truck, and ass-backwards on the other side. A stupid wheel I selected sadly, and paid for my haste.
Many of the Factory Repo wheels I like, the CK375, the Esky Platinum, the Texas Edition, and no, they are not "Hollywood Hooptie" Wheels, and the factory repros in many ways "belong" on the Chevys, GMs, and Caddys, but some things I slightly dislike, are little in the way of a "Lip", which is why I liked the Black Rhino Pondora originally, and the other, is with such having center caps, and no provision for securing-locking them. Yep, sadly, some areas seem to specialize in "Hub Cap Thiefs". I even once knew such a specialist in Chicago who one night happened to get fired at by an off duty Chicago Cop.
The kid was no junkie, or doper, so why he did such was beyond me, he wasn't destitute either, and came from a very good family. Maybe just the thrill?
I wouldn't mind exposed lug nuts, heck, I'll buy a set of custom lugs, where perhaps every lug is a lock that needs a special Socket?
I for sure want a basically simple wheel, 5 spoke ideally, or would even settle on a 6 lug. Seven, or eight lug just look too confusing to me, and also ruin a sporty look. I do not want some Zoot Suit Look, with rubber band tires, yet I also don't want to get pounded ever again, and make more road noise than 18 wheelers with Mud Terrain Tires on board. Been there, and done that, and my back and comfort severely suffered for an aggressive "look". Don't need it, at least not at the present. If I need a tough vehicle, I'll buy an ATV!
I surely don't want some delicate Blvd Crusier Wheel, where if I hit a 2" deep Pothole, I have a bent wheel.
Nor, do I want a wheel, with all those little stupid fake screws-bolts, where I'm spending an entire day with detailing brushes cleaning the crud out. I want basic clean good looks, no cleaning nightmares, no chrome or finish peeling, bubbling, flaking,no rub issues, no mounting issues with spacers, or other kind of crap like that.
Again, money is not so much an object but my Hoe, no matter how much I treasure it, is not a 2014 Bentley, which I could so stupidly place $4,000 of wheels on board, and another $900 in tires, when the truck, no matter how nice, is only worth mere pennies on the market. If I traded this Hoe, for a 2000 Kia Spectra Shytmobile, you can best believe I won't walk out of a dealership with car, and money to boot in hand.
I'll conclude that many if not all of the Factory Repros with a +31mm offset will all sit the same under the truck, no matter which wheel, correct?
My ultimate concerns are whether such a wheel will be my best choice?
I'd sure like some further re-assurance, and to see some more 4x4 OBS Hoes-Kons with custom aftermarket wheels-tires on board.
No, I'm also not interested in any lift-lowering kits, wish to keep suspension basically bone stock.
(sorry for the lengthy post)
