Alright, I know that we already have too many of these threads as is, but... Here's my situation... I live in rural East Tennessee, where it snows, and sometimes floods, anyway... I THINK that I'm about to finally upgrade my wheels, so I have a few questions. I may be towing an off-road vehicle soon, and when I am, I may be forced to go on some pretty harsh roads, (not like extreme off-roading, but still, off the beaten path.). I want 24s, I'm looking at 24" Black Esky Reproductions, I LOVE the wheels, but I'm afraid that it would be a bad choice considering my area. What do you guys think? Do I need to go 22, or can I do 24s? Also, if I can get 24s, are there rubbing issues? What tires should I get? I want Nitto Terra Grapplers, especially if I get 22s, either way, I'm most likely getting black Esky repros...

Given the road and driving conditions you describe I cannot see how you could possibly wear 24s ... to be perfectly honest even 22s might not give you enough sidewall for really harsh roads. But if it's between those 2 choices, imo 24s aren't even worth considering. Plus with 22s there's no rubbing issues as long as you go with oem spec rubber (285/45/22). I know you want to hear 24s but your wallet will thank you for not going that route. :)

Thanks Soulsea, I want 24s, but I now also think that it would be in my best interest to go with 22s. I've decided (in the last five minutes :), that I want a rugged, but elegant look) I want black wheels for sure, I think... I'm pretty sure that I want the black 22" Esky Repros, but I've been a fan of the CK375s since I first saw them... And with ScSS selling CK375s at really good prices....

I think that I will eventually end up doing a full Escalade rear conversion, add some '09+ LTZ moldings, etc... Should I go with CK375s or the black 22" Esky Repros? Opinions?

Also, I'm not sure why, but since I'm going 22", I really want Nitto Terra Grapplers :).

I think I'll vote with my truck. :)

But the reps look nice also ... although if you're gonna go 22s theres no need to get reps, you can get the real deal.

Boy, you're really going for two divergent looks there. 22" Esky reps and CK375s are elegant wheels that don't really go with AT tires imo. Although another member here did do it. I don't remember the thread but here's a pic from it:

I know, lol. That's just the way that I am, I guess. I REALLY like the wheel/tire setup that you posted, the black CK375s with Terras :D. I think that you have officially helped me make up my mind :). I see black CK375s wrapped in Terra Grapplers in my near future :). I think.

If your going to be towing off road in bad weather, I really wouldn't go with that big of a rim. Having exra sidewall is a real benefit in that environment.

Well it's your truck but I must say that's it's an awful lot of money to spend to achieve that look. You're going to be in for around $2500 with wheels, tires, caps, tpms, lugs ... then to do that look properly you'll need to pay someone to sand or bead blast the chrome out of brand new rims and powder coat them. So you could be reaching $3500. Why not just go with a different 22" wheel that's already black and save yourself a boatload of cash and headache?

Or just plasti-dip your current wheels, I see a lot of guys modding their trucks this way. Much cheaper than buying new.

haha I plasti dipped my wheels just for fun. They last long. I would of stayed with them if I didnt get a great deal when I powder coated them.
