24" Rims Advice?

Hey guys,

Noob here...

I live in a area with bad roads (nyc/nj) but I want 24" rims. The problem is that I need tires with a bit of sidewall to withstand the bad roads. On a stock 2010 Tahoe LT... What is the best size tires with out rubbing the wheel well?

I was thinking 24x9.5 with 285/40/24... would that be alright? or would you guys recommend a bigger size tire? any advice will be appreciated. thanks in advance!

good luck......i live in the nyc area i roll in 26s its rough out here.........i used to roll 24 and regret spending the money on them only to get 26s later on

Well, I'm slapping THESE guys on tomorrow with 295/35/24s on here in DC, which has the same crap roads as NY/NJ ... I'll let you know how it goes.

Hey bro I live in MD 5min from D.C cool to have member near by an your brave for running a 35 series in D.C don't forget to add them to your insurance lol

so what do you guys think with the 24x9.5 - 285/40/24... think the wheel well has enough room for that extra sized sidewall?

They are Enkei Ikei 6, 24x10, with a 20mm offset.

So far so good with the ride.

i got 305/35/24 they work great. i have to drive on really bad roads sometimes. borderline offroading.
