24 rims on 4.8 tahoe

Hello everyone im new on this website!
so i have a question in regards to 24" rims on a 4.8 engine,what are the pros and cons?
i have a 03 tahoe with 4.8 engine and want to get new shoes for it (24's)but how much stress will i put on the engine and trans?
I have a volant intake and flowmaster on it, had a transsmision rebiult about 4 years ago no problems with my engine.
any help or comments would help and thanks.

Welcome man, I have the exact same set up except I have a different CAI. No issues with the 24s at all. I live in florida and make trips back and forth to SC 598 miles one way. No issues go ahead and do it.

hey man first off thanks for the reply!!
Well how is your truck feel (i have a heavy foot), and im kind off nervous on messing any thing up, how is the breaking on it with the wheels?
are you planning on doing any modifications to the engine for more power?

Iv been having 26s on my 07 Ls 4.8 Tahoe since May07 when I bought my truck . Now I have 94xxx mi on my truck and having had no Issues what so ever . (knock on wood) . Engine and tranny runny better then ever. Also I'm dropped 2"/3" . Not a rough ride at all . I think you'll do fine as long you drive it with care, remember u ain't in a sport car .

Tip: if I have ppl riding with me or just weight , I ride with the "tow" on , it's smoother shifting not that I have any problem riding with out it

Wow that's crazy bro 26"?? That must be ******* your brakes? Well I'm not going that big on my hoe, but It will be on 4's in a couple of weeks.
Have you done any modifications to your hoe, CAI,Flowmaster,?
Can you put up some pics of your drop, that might be my next project it to level it off. Thanks again rosendo for the comment.
