24" tire recommendations for NYC help

I will need new tires on the 22" eventually so I am looking to upgrade to the 24" ck 375 reps from factory reproductions.

From experience guys can you recommend the best tire for harsh roads here in NY ? So I can start looking up pricing.

I would like a strong side wall relatively quiet all season tire.

Come on guys. Half this forum is on 24's. what tires are you running? How are they on potholes?

I had my 24s on in DC for less than two months because of the way they road on the screwed up streets, then I took them off for 22s ... NYC/Tri State roads are worse. If you insist in running 24s then at least get a 305/35 tire to have a little more sidewall, even if you have a little more rubbing. Even then, you're going to always have to be thinking (stressing) about potholes.

I stress about potholes now on the 22's. It's a way of life that gets engrained in you here. What type of tire were you running?

I was running Hankook Ventus 295/35 ... not bad not great, an average tire which came with the wheels when I got them.



Interesting tho, I use to drive around NYC all the time in my 22s and never gave it a thought., at least not in terms of rim damage.

Nitto 420 rides good.
I'm not entirely impressed with the noise level but they ride fantastic compared to my last set.

Satisfied with my 295 Nitto 420s so far. Paid around $350 per tire with full warranty from Discount Tire.

Okay decided to just buy new 22" tires. I'm torn between the
Nitto 421q
Bridgestone Alenza h/l

The nitto has better specs but is a relatively new untested tire.

Can't go wrong with the bridgestones, they're one of the two oem spec tires for nnbs suvs.

But I like the look of those Nittos ... they look like a less aggressive version of the 420s for better winter driving.
