26’s vs 24’s

As the title reads I’m looking to get some new wheels for my new 24 Tahoe and considering keeping my factory 22’s but pick up a set of 24’s or 26’s.

I have ran so many sets of 24’s over the last 15-16 years and have pretty good luck as long as I got a better quality tire, never had any luck with Lexani tires never could get those to balance out. I have had 2 sets of 26’s but been years ago since I’ve ran them and the fact the truck I had them on was about 7 years old with over 100K miles vs my Tahoe being new has to make a difference

-Guess my questions are with people who run 26’s on there 21+ Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade how big of a difference in ride quality vs factory 22s?

-Any rubbing with 295/30/26 or 305/30/26 tires?

-Does it hurt gas mileage?

I have no personal experience with wheels of that diameter.

I can say that many folks on this Forum believe that 22" wheels make for a significantly harsher ride than 20" wheels due to the reduced sidewall height. I would imagine that a similar differential will exist going from 22" wheels to 26" wheels, as the sidewall height is further reduced.

There will be an mpg impact as the 26" wheels are significantly heavier than the 22" wheels, but I have no idea whether or not the difference will be significant enough to measure.

Other members of this Forum much more knowledgeable than me in this area will chime in.

I'm getting 24's on my incoming 25 but not super thrilled about it. Main reason is there are no good replacement tire makers out there yet. But I think there will be, as 24's become more mainstream. I'm hoping by the time I take delivery in late spring that Pirelli or Michelin will have a direct replacement. If they do, I will trade them out right at the dealership and let them keep the Alenza's.

Have you tried the 24 out yet on your Tahoe ? I just pulled the trigger on it at killed my mpg from 21 to 13 ish

Doesn't arrive till May-June... As factory wheels I don't expect any different mileage than I get with my current 22's...
