275/65/20 winter tires on 2023 Tahoe high country

Wondering if I can install 275/65/20 instead of 275/60/20 without lift or any modification for winter tires

At an inch taller i dont see why they wouldnt fit. Cycle your tires left and right and check all the tight spots…if you have a half inch or more of clearance you should be good.

The speedo/shift points/electronics etc. will be a smidge off, however.

LT tires have more plies and are somewhat unforgiving. They are a tough tire, but they compromise suppleness and ride.
if you need them, get them….. if you don’t….don’t just get them for the heck of it……

The problem is certain size tires, often the desired size, only come in lt rating. But yes, they are not only stiffer and more durable, they are also typically quite a bit heavier which also degrades fuel mileage and breaking/acceleration performance.

While quite minimal overall, there will most likely be a noticeable difference in ride/breaking/acceleration etc.

Olyelr, if one goes with toyo MT's in that size, its exactly 34.5 in diameter and 11" wide. This is 1.07" taller than the stock tire. I removed the metal bracket behind the front tires and trimmed a bit in the back and measured about 1.25" before the stock tire would hit the metal framing at full crank. With 1.25" of space before hitting and given that the Toyo MT's are 1.07" taller than stock, there is about 0.18" of space before a toyo MT at 34.5" x 11" wide would hit. At stock height with no lift...this is cutting it very close but does this sound dangerous to drive on road?

I ended up getting all train Bridgestone to try and see if it works or not . It rubs. Not much but it does ,
So on a full turn if there is a bump it sounds harsh , more on the right side than the left side. Also, winter time with the ice and snow built up then there is absolutely no room , so I decided to go 275 60 20 micheline x ice for the winter . In terms of look, it is not a huge difference either but overall everything make more sense. I don’t think I can say the 65 was a better ride in the bumps either. These are the photos of 275 65 20
