My Denali came with 285/45 22 if I change all four (4) tires to a 285/40 22 then I should NOT get the warning;
"The overall diameter variance of the new tire is -1.12 inches, which is -3.44% different than the original. You should never go beyond 3% of the original tire, otherwise you run the risk of brake failure."
That just means if I had (let's say) 40 in the front and 45 in the back. Is that correct?
If I change all four then their is no variance is what my thoughts are.

I've never heard of that warning, so I cannot help you there.

Regarding a 40 profile tire, that, IMO, is going to ride rough in your 5800 lb. truck. Are you looking for a rougher/harsher ride?
