has to be something to do with the rim offset

im suprised i run 285/45/22 and im lowered and i rub only in Reverse. What rim are you using? Oem or aftermarket? Do you know the backspacing or offset?
The difference in sidewall height between 45 and 50 aspect ratio on 285 tires is approximately 14mm/half an inch, so I doubt that accounts for you having major issues and me having none ... the most likely reason is the one sumo stated, namely the offset on your wheels. Do you know what it is?
Can you post a pic of them?
It might help us track them down or maybe one of the other members knows of the model.
Mmm, sorry Charles I can't seem to find one either.
May I suggest taking the above pic and emailing it to the folks over at Helo asking for the specs.
One thing I did notice though looking at helo maxx wheels on google image search is that they are mostly on lifted/leveled trucks.
Yeah I dont know, they seem like they will work with just some smaller tires.
Ok, tried them on. They fit however cannot turn the wheels without them rubbing and that is with no body movement. So for the record 285-50-22 will not work on a stock suspension.

So on that note....I need to get new tires. I am thinking 285-45-22 or 295-40-22. Price is no factor. I am just wondering what the best tire on the market is. She does alot of highway traveling and would like some good miles out of whatever we get. Weather is not really a factor here in Nevada. We have great weather about 360 days a year. Miles and ride are #1 and #2 on the list of priorities.
