285/70/17 on stock Denali

I found a really good deal on a set of 285/70/17 BFGs. My question is will they fit on a stock 1999 Denali with stock 2004 17" rims. It currently has 265/70/17 which I believe is the stock size. The difference is an 1" taller and about an 1" wider. Thanks in advance.

One inch bigger in either way should not hurt anything.

Will this same tire size fit on a 98 Tahoe with no lift or torsion crank? Running 265/75R16 now. I'd run them on a 17x9, and someone online said the tire itself would be wider running on a 9" wide rim rather than an 8" wide rim? I just figured running on a wider rim would mean not as much tire overhang on either side of the rim?

P or LT265/75/16 can fit with no mods but a wider rim will increase the tire width a tad bit. The stock size was really P245/75/16. Currently I have LT265/75/16 on old Denali rims in front and LT265/70/17 on 8" Black Rock rims in the rear. Rolf, It sounds like you have weak or mis-adjusted torsion bars, broken bump stops or busted shocks.

I don't have the Denali anymore so I'm not sure. But It had brand new Bilstein HD's and 16x7 Crager soft 8's wrapped in 265/75/16 Falken Rocky Mountain AT's. I'm pretty sure they rubbed up front not the back.

It's stock. It's no lower than my 99 Tahoe or 97 Yukon.

If that is stock, than mine is lifted beyond belief with no lift kit.
