Ok, so that doesn't work counselor. We're not talking about leaving the key in the car. The issue is that the key is in our pocket and we just get out while the car is running to do something. It honks three times telling us the key is out of the car.

Hmmm, okay, did you explore the other settings options? I do wonder if that isn't a setting they'll let you turn off ?

There is a solution. There are two wires attached to the horn. Cut both of them. Problem solved. (Sorry, guys...couldn't resist.)

I don't know of anyway to shut off the beeps when you do this other than to leave the FOB in the car. Think back to the days of real keys ... you couldn't remove the key from the ignition when the engine was running. With an FOB, you can effectively leave the car running with no key in the virtual ignition. I want to toss the FOB out the window, wait for the beeps, and see if the car can be driven with the FOB out of the car.

You can drive it, it won't turn off for safety reasons. Imagine if it runs out of battery when you're driving, it won't turn off. My infiniti could be left on and not triple beep, it's really case by case. And before on my navigator I used to keep the keys in side and turn it on, but I could lock it with the keypad outside. I very consistently leave the car running and having it triple been every time I approach the car and then walk away is the worst.

Ditto Hate it. That said, my wife is forgetful (almost aloof).... she's brilliant with a rock solid memory but seems to over look things like... where she left her phone, wallet, keys, purse....etc (I attribute it to her brain being focused on waaay too many things).

If someone out there can sort it.. I would love to turn off just my key (as it is always in my pocket) and leave the honks for my wife. (she needs it)

I've been to the dealer a few times to ask different ppl about this. Everyone tells the me the same thing, that it can't be turned off. Try having train horns on yours and leaving the fob in your pocket.[emoji15] The 3 little beeps turn into ONE long blast! (because the solenoid can't open and close that fast) So if anyone dose find an answer to this problem I'll be all over it. I do wonder if Chris (GTPrix) could do something in the programming?....

I never thought of your train horns... I bet that'll make you jump out of your skin!

You can put a switch in the dash and splice into one side of the horn wire so you can kill the horn when you want. Bet there is a place you can cut in under the dash so you wouldn't have to run a pair of wires all the way up to the horn.
