Hey everyone,

It's time for new tires and I was digging through old posts in order to find some solid pictures of vehicles with the 305/50/20 Toyo or Nitto? I'm leaning this direction as of now but wanted to see more photos of others who have run this tire size.

Thanks,
Josh

I was planning on it, would it look that bad? Aren't the OEM Denali wheels 20x8.5? The 305/50/20 is listed as only being 1" wider than the stock 275/55/20.

305/50/20 on stock wheels looks fine. Lots of people out there running that set up that aren't on this forum.

Quick google search provided these on an avalanche: 305/50/20

Thanks for posting the pictures, the tires look good and I'm leaning towards getting the Toyo AT2's as I prefer the tread pattern.

Do these tires feel heavy when accelerating? Asking because I have the KO2's are they are heavy as shit

I'm not sure if they feel heavy under acceleration but by Toyo's statistics the 305/50r20 weighs 4.5lbs more per tire than the 275/55r20. What's an extra 20lbs when the vehicles weigh 7k... Of course the 6.2L owners don't feel the 5.3L owners pain.

Without getting into a physics lesson, its not about adding to the vehicles mass.. adding the 4.5 lbs per wheel for the different tire isn't about adding weight to the vehicle. It requires the truck to work harder at rotating the wheel/tire. More work is required to create extra centrifugal force the extra weight the tire adds as to why it makes it 'sluggish'. This is relevant to the drive wheels only. If your truck is AWD or in 4WD, it's multiplied by 4 as opposed to 2 in RWD.

That being said, I really don't care about fuel economy. If the tires make that big of a difference, get a tuner to add 15-20 hp and you won't tell a difference from stock.

My profile picture is 305/40/22 front and rear. These tires are Nexen Roadians but I just replaced the wheels from Incubus to U2 and tires to Nanking. I wanted a softer all season tire. Hope it helps.

I agree BigT63, a good tune from someone like Black Bear Performance would more than makeup for the additional mass your vehicle would be pushing.

@Big Mama- Your wheel/tire combo look great, If I had a 2wd model that's what I'd aim for...
