I have been shopping around like mad for new wheels and tires for my 2009 burb. Using the coolest tool ever http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html the height of a 305/50/20 compared to a 275/55/20 is very close.

I crurrently have an LT with stock 17's :(

I have been looking at Mamba wheels and tirerack.com suggests a +30mm offset on a 20x9 wheel even with a 275 width tire. Will this stick out really far?

I guess I'm pretty confused. I don't want the wheels to stick way out but I also want to get a wide tire.

Offset calculator

Just google "offset calculator". This calculator will tell tell you how many millimeters in and out your new wheel and tire combo will move. Then just take your ruler and go out to your truck and add or subtract it to your stock setup. 12mm is about 1/2 inch. I have. Used it numerous time with my sport cars and it works like a charm.

I've though about that tire too and if the calculators are correct it will be fine ... The difference between 305/50/20 and 285/45/22 and 275/55/20 is less than 1% in all directions. And the latter two tires are gm spec sizes.

I think I'll have to pull the trigger on that tire size!

Now to decide on +10 +18 or +30mm on the offset for the 20x9 wheel.
