Hey guys I have a 350 goodwrench I don't know the year an I've found some info but it still wouldn't tell me the year. But anyways the casting number is 10066036. I was wondering if my vortec heads would match up to this 350 so I can put them on an make a 383

unknown at this time.
I don't think that works in the 90's and some 80's applications. can't remember the details but read that somewhere once on another forum somewhere.

383 is nothing more than a bored 350 with a 400 crank.
Use any legacy style heads you want with its matching intake.

So yess use that block. Hog it out and slip in the crank. Bolt on those heads with the matching intake and whammy! 383.

Would I do it? Hells no, I would get a 5.3, toss on some 799 heads with a 212/218 cam, and get a cheap 200$ modified engine harness from Craigslist.
Bolt that ****** in and use a painless wire harness adapter to make my gauges work.
Will have more power, reliability and mpg.

Not trying to push any buttons here but I'm yet to see someone do the 5.3/6.0 swap with ease and be cost effective. I'm not saying it hasn't but it's more work tan most anticipate. I do agree on the power it can deliver too. Great motors.
