Thinking about doing the back of my Droid. my bro is bring me the exacto knives.

---------- Post added at 01:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:58 PM ----------

Just did a quick test on my cell phone. Here are a couple of pics. Things that I learned.

1. Precut but cut the dinoc a little bigger than what you want to cover, maybe a half inch or so because it shrinks so much when you heat it.

2. Have extremely sharp brand new razors. If they're the slightest bit dull it will mess up what your doing. the dinoc will be kind of squishy/pliable, so if you cut it while it's warm it's like cutting pudding.

3. take your time and squeegee as much air out as you can.

the template but i cut it way to close. i would cut it out after i've heated it onto the surface.

the end result. a couple of air pockets and i creased the dinoc a couple of places trying to rush, but it's super moldable when it's hot, so take your time heat slowly and squeegee.

Did two pieces in the hoe. Gonna redo the stereo trim. Don't like how it came out. But I'm learning.

I would do the top piece of the stereo trim too......it would make it easier too as it would take two cuts out and allow one single piece of di-noc.

Looks good

It was something I was debating, cutting the sheet for the trim or covering the whole thing. I cut it cuz I decided to just follow the original wood grain lines. It's still one sheet, but that was the problem for me, one sheet and then heating/stretching to try to get all the air bubbles and creases out. I will do it again this weekend and probably cover the whole stereo piece. I'm a little worried about the angles and corners on the driver's side window/door lock piece.

the door controls looked cheap with the di-noc so ended up painting. loved how my dash turned out though. Def redo your stereo, i can see an air pocket from the pic and the corners could be worked in better. pre cut all your material about half inch bigger, heat the di-noc to a flimsy state and apply. heat some more, take your time and slightly stretch. make small slits as needed on corners to get to conform correctly. picture.jpg

Just some Krylon spray paint.. primer. gloss black. clear. wet sand. clear... Make sure there fully dry, if the paint is still soft youll leave permanent finger prints on install. i found that out the hard way and had to redo one.
