That was in John Tanner state park near Carrollton while visiting the in-laws. We’re currently up in Virginia after a few days at Pigeon Forge. I agree the factory cooler is rather small but so far it stays plenty cool while towing. It actually got hotter easing through Cades Cove without the camper so I will probably add a bigger cooler for the Texas heat this summer and maybe an electric fan as well. We have a 3.5” lift with some trimming (just plastics) and don’t get any rub. They’re 33x12.5/R18 with -12 offset.
Thanks for the info on the tires; I may just trim the plastic a bit and call it done. My lift is more like 1 - 1.5" from my bigger rear springs and setting the front springs on the first perch up from bottom on my Bilsteins. As a data point for you - with the Tru-Cool I never saw more than 135 degrees from the transmission on that trip to Gulf Shores (daytime temps in the mid-70s). I'm going to keep an eye on engine temps this summer; want to make sure all is well with that big cooler hanging in front of the radiator, even if it is a 3" thick dual core. I could switch out the Tru-Cool for a Derale with fans that might fit below the radiator if I don't like my engine temps. I don't want to hit Big Bend later this year without some serious cooling for everything. We'll have to check out that park in Carrollton - it looks nice.
