I have been looking for a 01-04 used Yukon and I've noticed some 4wd knobs seem to have a 4 low option and some don't. I included a couple pics to show what I mean. Wondering of the ones without 4 low have another way of engaging or if it was omitted on certain years.

Thanks in advance.

I guess I will just have to make sure the one I buy will have 4-Low or the dealer will have some insight if it doesn't have it.

Youre looking for 01-04? Those pics are of 07+. Completely different switch setup.

My original post I made a mistake with the years. I am indeed looking for a 2011-2014 Yukon. I found this article and answered my own question but wanted to put it out there for other people confused about this. I'm not sure how many years are effected but this press release is for 2013 model year Yukon.

2 speed transfer case is "available" on the SLE and SLT as an option. It comes as part of the Z71 package. I find this annoying because I expect a truck labeled 4WD to have 4 high and 4 low. I do a lot of driving on the beach in the summer and almost always use 4 low because it eats up the soft sand in my 04 Avalanche.

Hopefully I can find one that has the Z71 package for the price I'm looking to pay.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they never offered a Yukon equipped with the Z71 package. I think that was only for Tahoes and Suburbans.

ETA: I see that your link says that GM did offer a Z71 equipped NNBS Yukon, but I'm not so sure about that. If they did, I've never seen one that I can recall. Even after searching Google I was unable to find one. Maybe it was offered, but didn't have the exterior appearance additions such as the badging, fender flares, and 17" wheels like the Tahoes/Suburbans did?

I thought the same thing about the Z71 package. That'sd always been a Chevy trim and I have never seen a Yukon with a Z71 badge. Maybe someone on here that has a 2 speed transfer case can chime in on there truck.

I drove 3 Yukons and they all had just 4HI. I ended up with a 2013 with 30,000 miles.

I don't believe there was ever a z71 trim package offered, but my 07 does have the z71 RPO code indicating it has the z71 package. It also has 4lo and hi if that helps any.
