I'm new to this site, but I'm on my 2nd full size GM sport utility. I have a 1995 Yukon 2 door that i picked up for cheap. I have the chance to get a 454, including all the wiring and everything I need, out of a tow truck. I just want to know has anyone ever heard of anybody swapping in a 454. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking about pulling the motor, rebuilding it, with a few performance mods, then swapping it in over the winter.

unknown at this time.
it can be done but bear in mind the 4l80e tranny that is on the 454 now will also need to be put in as well. Being as how the diesel with the same tranny was factory done it should not be difficult to source parts for the conversion.

There was a guy here that had a 454 that he was pulling, I was gonna buy it but he stopped responding to texts ... You don't NEED the 4L80, there were 454s with 4L60s behind them from the factory. If you are going to do any performance mods to the engine you are going to want a better tranny. I would have had no issues putting a mild 454 in front of mine but it's far from stock.

It should bolt right in using the mounts from the small block, you will need all of the accy drives from the big block. but other than a few small parts here and there, it's an easy swap.

Actually you don't need the accessories. There are plates available to use the small block front drive setup.
