4L80e Swap

Anyone done a 4L80e swap? I’m assuming I’ll need a longer front and shorter rear driveshafts due to length difference between 60e/80e. Also may have to do something different with crossmember and will need a different input shaft for my t case due to spline difference. Can a 1/2 ton computer be reprogrammed to shift the 80e or will it need a stand alone unit? Considering a 80e swap in my Sierra

Someone on the forum did the swap several months ago, he did a write up as well. Try doing a search.

The only thread I found when I searched “4L80e” was one pertaining to pcm issues in a GMT400 truck with a 6.0 swap over the the oe SFI 5.7. I didn’t see anything pertaining to swapping a 4L80e into a GMT800 truck originally equipped with a 4L60e. Thank you for the suggestion though. I’m off with the kids today, maybe I’ll be able to skim further back at nap time lol
