My first post so, if this is covered somewhere else, I apologize.

I have the push-button 4wd selector switch and several times all the lights go out and nothing can be changed until about 10 start cycles and it seems to reset itself. I had the encoder motor replaced ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$) the last time but I keep reading that the switch may be the likely culprit. Any detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Its real simple...
Just pop off the dash cover that goes all the way from over by the switch across the speedo and around the radio. Just pull it will pop off. Put the shifter in 1 and wheel at bottom tilt to make a lil extra room.
Than theres like 2-3 screws that hold the switch in and a wire on the back. Replace the switch and put the cover back on.

Hope that helps

If your handy with a soldering iron, there's connections on the board of the switch that most likely need to be re-soldered. The switch pops apart easy enough, and it'll save you the expense of buying a new one.
I fixed mine this way in less than 1/2 hour. If re-soldering isn't an option for you, do what Mitch suggested and just replace the switch.
