Ive been reading on other threads about people cutting thier 4x10 speaker plates in the rear to accomodate 6x9 speakers. I was just wondering if anyone that has done it can post a picture of it so I can see how it looks. I have a 99 2 door tahoe and Im tired of blowing 4x10s and having to replace them. I wanna install focal 6x9 in the back if possible. I have read that the mounting depths for the focals are about 3 5/8 which i believe should be able to be mounted if the panel mod actually works.

On sonic electronix.com I found some adapters for my Yukon . I ordered them today. Planning to put 6x9 JL Audios in the rear

This is for anyone wanting to replace the rear roof speakers in their Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade OBS...
You don't need adapters...I just finished putting 6x9's in the roof of my Tahoe Limited.
My Hoe didn't even have 4x10's in it...just a plate with screws that mounted a 3" speaker in the 4x10's place!
I removed the 3" speaker and its plate from the 4x10 plate that mounts to the roof...I didn't have to cut anything...just lined up the 6x9 on the 4x10 plate and drilled my mounting holes for the 6x9's and mounted those to the 4x10 plate and re-installed the plate back in the 2 holes that hold the plate to the roof.
No cutting, just drilled the holes to mount the 6x9's on the plate.
Tight fit but they sound great after I put everything back together!
I hope this helps anyone who is wanting to replace the roof speakers with 6x9's.
