While I have the money, in case there are any issue's, and before winter gets here, I would like to know the best and safest way to check the components of my 4x4? Is the best thing to turn in a circle in a parking lot with it engaged or is that really bad on the system? I know I could easily drive into the field and find out but I am not an "offroader". I just want to make sure when it snows on me this winter, my son and I can get out and play in it.

No you do not what to do that on asphalt the design of a LSD is to slip first. there is to much traction on asphalt.

What are you wanting to check??? just see if it engages???

the only time you want to turn in circles is to check axle bearings.

So ya what are you wanting to check?

you could engage the 4wd and then have someone check that your front driveshaft is spinning... as you roll

this wont work for my front shaft was turning but not the front diff.. best way i found to check, without parking in a mud hole is to jack all 4 corners up and then engage 4x4 and give it some gas.. i got a wiring issue some where that was not engaging the front diff... got a new switch and front diff actuator on the way.. ill post again when i get them installed
