Im in need of a diff cover and keep coming up with different answers to what fits and doesn’t fit. I just want an oem replacement, a fill plug would be a bonus but not necessary and whats this magnet thing ive seen in them is that something i should find also?

I have a 2010 tahoe lt 5.3 4x4 if that helps any.

Amazon has them the magnet catches any metal shavings so they don’t roll around in your gears. Get one with a drain if it’s in the budget makes the job changing fluid much easier

After much research I ended up keeping the stock cover.

The only place I found that had what I was looking for was here...

You can essentially custom build the cover the way you want.

I couldn't use a deeper/dinner cover because of the truck being lowered and using the Spohn adjustable panhard bar. Not enough clearance.

On my truck the stock cover has the fill plug in it. I felt up on the passenger side front of the axle housing/pinion and didn't feel a fill plug but my truck is also dropped 6" out back.

My '08 Burb LTZ has the G80 rear end and has the fill plug in the cover but no drain plug.
