5.3 vs 6.2

Is the 5.3 rwd only? The 4wd will have a lower towing capacity.

In ‘20 the Yukon 5.3 have the same 6SP trans as what you have now. The 6.2 does have that 10SP that allows the milage to get within 1 mpg of the 5.3. ‘20 is also the last year of the torsion bar rear suspension. ‘21 it goes to IRS in back. I haven’t heard that it’s any better, just different.

The 6.2L is still outfitted only to Denali trim so you’re options are 2 or 4WD. AWD is no more. You’ll be in limousine territory and the 6.2 won’t lift a finger moving that 2.5 ton beast around or towing.
