Had a 14 Escalade that we owned until last summer. Disabled AFM when we got it via BlackBear tune, it treated us fairly well for 3 years, from 30-75k miles.
Replaced with an 18 Expedition Platinum that has been nothing but problems. Right now it’s in the shop getting new timing chains and cam phasers at 74k miles (under extended warranty), in part because the previous owner (we purchased CPO + warranty) didn’t change the oil frequently
Enough. As soon as we get it back, it’s getting traded in.
Looking at a couple CPO Escalade (‘18-20) and 6.2 Denalis. Under 50k miles. Many are showing oil change history of 7500-10,000 miles. Is that frequent enough? I’m happy to do 5k OCI with synthetic While I own it, but if it’s already got damage, I’ll keep looking.
I am Happy to disable AFM on the new ride, just need to know how robust this next Gen 6.2 is, how picky it is about oil changes, etc. Can’t afford to get myself into another problem-child here
Thanks!
