I got picked up an 07 Denali with 200k miles. Got it cheap. I was to freshen up the engine and would like to know a good route to go other than a stock rebuild. its mainly a daily driver but it will tow a good size tritoon pontoon boat. I was thinking some kind of stroker, cam, new heads or a head job, plus an FI setup. Thoughts?

A tow vehicle and a hot rod are two different animals. Stock rebuild with a mild cam will get you the good tow vehicle, you could add the blower too with mild boost settings. No reason for new heads in either scenario unless you have money burning hole in your pocket.

That's good advise. Since it's a DD don't make it a race motor, it'll be annoying everyday.

Any updates?

I'm actually looking for some info as well. But, I have a 6.0.
My Tahoe is a 2wd, very little to no towing. Might haul some sh*t in the back every now and then.
Otherwise its my DDer/Family hauler.

A stroker isn't a good idea unless you use a ls7 or newer block because of the short cylinders. I believe that your best bet is cam and heads.

I was thinking about a stroker but, my machine shop talked me into going with a stock rebuild with cam and some head work (I'll be doing the head work).
The size will be dependent of how much the cylinders need to be cleaned. May go to a 6.2.
Unfortunately, I have to get new pistons and rods to. It was quite a chore to get them out and I would not want to reuse them so I will be getting new ones. I may splurge and get some forged ones.
