134,000 miles is not exactly low miles... If it was 60K, yeah, but not 134... That is average for a 2009...
Dealers put a huge premium on those with under 75K miles, like an extra $10K or more. Of course, that's an extra few years of service life.
The gears were creaking in my head yesterday and I had a thought. Since we're looking to buy an 10-11 year old truck, how much money would it take to keep going for another ten years with regards to replacement/repair/overhaul of its major components?
I assigned a $4000 to all types for the transmission and $1500 each to the front and rear differentials and transfer case. Assigned $3000 cost for those with AFM to either repair or delete the system. Then assigned a $150 cost for those with ZW7 suspension, $500 for those with Nivomat shocks (ZW7/G65) and $1000 for those with Z55/G69.
My own truck came out near the top, $11,650 while a RWD 2008-2009 6.2 Tahoe or 2008-2009 Denali came out the least at $6500.
Of course, this assumes that all those things will have to be replaced after purchase and life is not always like that, some of it may have been done already. Maybe the ramblings of a crazed mind?!
The XFEs came out to $8650. That 4x4 LTZ Tahoe came out most expensive at $12K using that logic.
